Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich from Woody’s Lunch Box at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Have you had a chance to visit Woody’s Lunch Box at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? If not it is a great spot to grab a quick bite to eat. Some of the favorites are the Three Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Totchos (Think of loaded tater tots) a great side dish add on to any sandwich from Woody’s Lunch Box. Also do not forget to get your adult beverage too like the grown-up’s lemonade is a great choice too.

While we can’t visit Andy’s backyard right now, this recipe is just one more great way to create #DisneyMagicMoments in your own backyard (or kitchen).

Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich from Woody’s Lunch Box at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Serves 4

Ingredients:

Cream Cheese Spread

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Double Gloucester or cheddar 
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt

Garlic Spread

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt

Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich

  • 8 slices of artisan bread
  • 8 cheddar cheese slices
  • 8 provolone slices

Instructions:

For Cream Cheese Spread:

  1. Combine cream cheese, Double Gloucester or cheddar, heavy cream, and salt in food processor. Blend until smooth. Set aside.

For Garlic Spread:

  1. Combine mayonnaise, garlic, and salt in small bowl and stir until blended. Set aside.

For Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich:

  1. Lay out artisan bread slices on parchment paper or large cutting board.
  2. Place 2 slices of cheddar on 4 of the bread slices. Place 2 slices of provolone on remaining bread slices. 
  3. Equally spoon cream cheese spread on slices with provolone. Gently smooth cream cheese spread over each slice.
  4. Press cheddar side and provolone side together.
  5. Heat a large skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes, until hot. 
  6. Brush both sides of the sandwiches with garlic spread. 
  7. Grill sandwiches for 2 minutes on each side, until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.

Cooking up the Magic – Diseny Parks – Churro Bites

Now that the World is experiencing a global pandemic vacation plans had to be cancelled, put on hold or rescheduled. Disney did something new and added something called Disney Magic Moments to their Disney Parks Blog.  Disney calls it a daily dose of pixiedust. I call it a virtual dream come true. My favorte category is their Cooking Up The Magic.

Gather your immediate family while you are social distancing and start baking. Yes Disney has been releasing some of their fan favorite recipies to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Today I am sharing one of Disney’s classic snack options, Chrurro Bites.

Disney Parks Churro Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups vegetable or canola oil
  • ½ cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine water, butter, salt, and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon in 1 ½-quart saucepan over medium heat. Bring pot to rolling boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low.
  3. Add flour and stir vigorously until mix forms a ball. Remove from heat and let rest for 5-7 min.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, and stir until combined. Set aside.
  5. Using caution, heat oil in medium skillet or 1-quart saucepan over medium-high heat or until temperature reaches 350˚.
  6. Spoon dough into piping bag fitted with large star tip. Pipe 1-inch strip of dough over saucepan, cut with knife, and drop into hot oil. Repeat until churro bites fill saucepan with room to fry. 
  7. Fry churro bites until golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon or mesh spider strainer.
  8. Drain churro bites on paper towel.
  9. Mix sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon in medium bowl. Toss in churro bites until coated. Place on serving plate and serve with favorite dipping sauce.

Disney just released the recipe for one of its most famous snacks, the DOLE Whip®!  We all know what happens when your visiting the Magic Kingdom on a hot summer day, your hot and thirsty and need something refreshing to get you through the heat and humidity. So you head on over to Aloha Isle to quench your thirst with a refreshing DOLE Whip®. I personally enjoy one of the Floats over the Cup.

Hot Tip: no matter what option you choose be sure to finish it fast as it will melt quickly.

DOLEWhip® (Single Serving)

  • 1 big scoop of ice cream
  • 4 oz of pineapple juice
  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple
  • Add all ingredients to a blender until it’s a thick drink.
  • Add your swirl and then you’re done. 

Hot Tip: If you have an Ice Cream maker then toss those ingredients in to get a better frozen texture and enjoy.

Recipe for Jack-Jack’s Cookie Num Nums

Now that we have plenty of time on our hands why not try out a fun cookie recipe inspired by Disney’s Incredibles. Here is a Recipe for the famous Num Num Cookies that Jack Loves.

You can also find them at Disney’s California Adventure Theme Park in Pixar Pier.   

When visiting Disneyland you can venture out to Disney’s California Adventure Theme Park to Pixar Pier. Either before or after a ride on the Incredicoaster, stop at the Jack-Jack Num Nums Cookie Kiosk and you can enjoy a warm Jack-Jack Num Num Cookie. The Num Num Cookie is pretty large so you can probably share it too. Alos be sure to try one of the other two cookie options at this kiosk. The Incredicookie (Gluten Friendly) and the Jack-Jack Shortbread Cookie. Don’t forget to add a nice cold glass of Milk to finsih off your filling sweet treat.
